Alaska Aerospace Corporation

Alaskans are used to taking on tough challenges that require innovation and grit.  The same holds true to accessing space.

Established in 1991, the Alaska Aerospace Corporation (AAC) has been at the forefront of commercial vertical orbital access to space.  We are responsive, agile and efficient.  Our people operate in uncongested and digitally connected spaces. These are just a few of the reasons our government and commercial customers trust AAC as their launch partner of choice.

AAC owns and operates the Pacific Spaceport Complex – Alaska (PSCA).  We support government and commercial customers with national security and science missions. The PSCA is located on scenic Kodiak Island, Alaska.  The spaceport provides year-round launch operations with air, port and road access.

AAC developed and deploys a mobile Range Safety, Tracking, and Telemetry System (RSTS), successfully supporting government and commercial launches at spaceports worldwide.

Alaska is 20% of the US land mass, has the longest coastline, overlooking the largest body of water on the planet, has a low population density, manageable air and maritime routes and decades of successful launch experience. Beyond Kodiak, AAC is expanding the Nation's access to space with new orbital and horizontal space ports and other initiatives such as the Pacific Test Range (PTR)—set to become the world’s longest ground-instrumented test range. We are ideally positioned to add launch capacity for the Nation now.

This video from National Geographic provides an in-depth look at the operations of the PSCA.  It showcases the facility's capabilities in supporting both government and commercial space launches, highlighting the PSCA's strategic importance in the aerospace industry.

Through interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, viewers gain insight into the daily activities and challenges faced by the PSCA team. It offers a comprehensive understanding of PSCA's role in advancing space exploration and technology from a location that combines remote beauty with cutting-edge aerospace operations.
